California DDS Submits SPA To Add ‘Participant-Directed’ As Service Delivery Method

The California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) submitted a state plan amendment (SPA 24-0005) for the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to add “participant-directed” as a service delivery method for self-directed support services for people with developmental disabilities served by the DDS regional centers. The state Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) intended to submit the SPA by March 31, 2024, for federal consideration.
