Evernorth Expands EncircleRx Program To Include A Financial Guarantee For GLP-1 Spend

On March 7, 2024, Evernorth Health Services, a subsidiary of The Cigna Group, expanded its EncircleRx solution for health plans and self-insured employer plans to include a financial predictability guarantee for the cost of covering GLP-1 medications (currently approved to treat Type 2 diabetes and to treat overweight/obesity). This guarantee protects plans from the continued rising cost of GLP-1s. The guarantee of a cost cap is intended to help ensure that this class of medications is available to people with an appropriate clinical profile.
