Nevada ‘Health Improvement Plan’ Identifies Major Health Policy Priorities
Nevada intends to improve access to behavioral health and oral care, strengthen the public health infrastructure, and improve how the state addresses social determinants of health (SDOH), according to the Silver State Health Improvement Plan (SSHIP). The SSHIP is the state’s first-ever statewide “health improvement plan.” It identified current gaps and recommended policy goals that could be implemented to improve the overall health of state residents.
The SSHIP focuses on service gaps in the following domains:
SDOH, specifically food insecurity, health literacy, air quality and climate change, and housing.
