Food Is Medicine Coalition Releases Accreditation Standards For Medically Tailored Meal Interventions

On March 27, 2024, the Food is Medicine Coalition (FIMC) released the first-ever Accreditation standards for the medically tailored meal intervention (MTM). The FIMC Medically Tailored Meal Intervention Accreditation Criteria and Requirements (ACR) is intended to ensure that all organizations that achieve accreditation provide the same level of service and quality of MTM intervention regardless of location, size, or number of clients served. The MTM interventions must meet the diverse needs of diverse clients living with severe, chronic, or complex conditions. The first organization to earn accreditation is Food & Friends in the District of Columbia.
