Nebraska Eliminates Developmental Disabilities Waiting List
On March 29, 2024, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen announced that the state was eliminating its Developmental Disability (DD) Registry, which as of March 1, had 2,704 names. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the Nebraska Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) intends to roll out new policies to include new models of staffing including telehealth, virtual support, and the expansion of independent providers.
The new approach will provide a full continuum of care that adapts to individuals’ changing needs as they age. It will include:
