Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Launches Neuro-Inclusive Program That Integrates Palliative & Behavioral Health Care
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts launched a Neuro-Inclusive Oncology Care and Empowerment Program focused on integrating treatment and behavioral health services adults with intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) who are diagnosed with cancer. The program provides psychosocial services to help people with I/DD cope with emotional stress through all phases of cancer treatment. It also provides neuro-inclusive training to staff and clinical professionals, and promotes system improvements to make treatment as accessible as possible.
