Pilot Launched To Reduce Racial Bias In Child Welfare Reporting In Detroit & Ann Arbor, Michigan
The American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law (Center) is partnering with the Children’s Services Administration of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) on a five-year pilot launching in Detroit and Ann Arbor to reduce racial bias in child maltreatment reports filed by medical mandated reporters. The pilots will engage stakeholders in the health care, medical schools, public health, child welfare, lived experience, race equity, and legal systems, as well as community-based organizations.
