Arkansas Launches Preventative Pilot Programs For Children With Behavioral Health Disorders
The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) launched three pilots in May 2024 to prevent behavioral health crisis among children with Medicaid. The pilot services focus on education, supporting families, and stabilizing children in need. The pilots are slated to run through March 2025, and are funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act.
The pilot sites are in Russellville, Harrison, Horatio, Warren, Batesville, and Little Rock. Services will be facilitated by Partners for Inclusive Communities within the University of Arkansas. Referrals can come from any source: schools, individuals, child-care centers, parents, or primary care professionals.
