UC Davis & WellSpace Launch SAFE-T Reentry Case Management Program For Incarcerated Individuals

In April 2024, the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) Psychiatry teamed with WellSpace Health, a large federally-qualified health center, to create a case management program for recently incarcerated individuals with behavioral health disorders called the SAFE-T (Sub-Acute Facilitated Engagement and Transitions) Program. The program is intended for incarcerated individuals with a diagnosed mental health disorder plus co-occurring addiction disorder, and an imminent or projected release date.
