Enrollment In Medicare, Medicaid, Or CHIP Down 12% Between 2023 & 2024
Enrollment in federally supported health programs—Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)—declined by 12% between late 2022 and February 2024, from 159 million to 139 million. Medicaid enrollment has declined by 10.7%. CHIP enrollment has remained the same. Medicare enrollment has increased nearly 2%.
