Half Of Connecticut Private Practice Social Workers Cite Issues With Insurance Plans
Despite high participation in commercial and public insurance plans, nearly half of private practice clinical social workers in Connecticut reported dissatisfaction with insurance plan payment policies, according to their responses to a survey conducted by Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-CT). The majority (73%) of the responding social workers participated in commercial insurer networks, and 67% participated in public insurer networks. The concerns with insurance plan payment policies included low reimbursement rates, and operational and administrative burdens working with insurers.
