50% Turnover Among Aging & Disability Support Workers In Colorado & Missouri

Aging and disability support provider organizations in Colorado and Missouri reported a 50% average annual turnover rate among disability support workers (DSWs) in 2022, according to the first National Core Indicators (NCI) State of the Workforce Survey for state Aging and Physical Disabilities service systems (NCI-AD SoTW). The turnover rate in Colorado averaged 49.4%, and 48.2% in Missouri. About half of the provider organizations that participated in the survey reported that they turned away or stopped accepting new service referrals during 2022, at 42.4% for Colorado organizations and 51.4% for Missouri organizations.
