Massachusetts Awards Five 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Network Call Center Contracts
On July 1, 2024, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) launched five new crisis call center contracts for its 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Network. The aggregate contract value is $8.3 million per year for two years, with funding from state and federal grants. The awardees are: Family Services of the Merrimack Valley; Samaritans of Cape Cod and the Islands; Samaritans, Inc, Boston; Samaritans of Fall River and New Bedford, Inc. which does business as Samaritans Southcoast; and United Way of Tri-County, Framingham. The average annual award was approximately $1.66 million.
