Medicare Proposes New Codes For Digital Behavioral Health Devices & Treatment Monitoring
Medicare has proposed adding payment for digital mental health treatment (DMHT) devices used in conjunction with treatment by a clinical professional as part of a behavioral health treatment plan of care. In the draft Medicare Physician Fee Schedule published July 31, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed three new HCPCS codes for digital mental health treatment devices. Using the codes, CMS intends to monitor how the devices are used as part of overall behavioral health care.
