Maryland Implements Six-Month Pause On New Behavioral Health Program Licenses
On June 28, 2024, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) implemented a six-month pause on Medicaid provider organization enrollments for new behavioral health licenses for four program types. The pause in licensure will not impact access to behavioral health services provided by individual clinical professionals, behavioral health services clinics operated in regulated hospital spaces, or behavioral health service professionals at Federally Qualified Health Centers. License applications that were filed before July 1, 2024, will not be affected by the pause.
