Parity For I/DD

The Biden Administration recently released new parity rules (see Feds Finalize Mental Health Parity Rules For Commercial Health Plans).;One interesting provision is that under these new rules, autism, intellectual and neurodevelopmental disorders and all other conditions listed in the mental, behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders chapter of the current International Classification of Diseases or the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders must be included under the definition of “mental health benefits” for plans and coverage (see Biden Administration expands Insurance Protections For Those With IDD).;

The new rules will prohibit health plans that cover mental health care . . .
