Arkansas Approves $1.5 Billion Correctional Medical Contract With Wellpath
On September 20, 2024, the Arkansas Legislative Council voted to approve the Department of Corrections (DOC) contract with Wellpath to provide correctional medical services. The contract has a two-year initial term valued at $235.5 million, followed by eight one-year extension options for a total 10-year term. Under the contract, Wellpath will provide comprehensive medical, dental, pharmacy and mental health services for inmates and offenders in DOC custody. The contract includes medication-assisted treatment for addiction disorder.
