U.S. Ranks Last In Health Care Compared With Nine Other High-Income Countries
According to data from 2020 through 2023, the United States ranks last in an analysis of five key health care categories compared with nine other high-income countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Across all 10 nations, Americans died the youngest and lived the sickest lives, despite the U.S. spending the most on health care. For life expectancy and avoidable deaths, the U.S. came in last.
