25% Of Adults Would Consider Using GLP-1 Weight Loss Drugs Without Prescription
In a national survey, 25% of respondents said they would consider using injectable GLP-1 weight loss medications (such as the branded Ozempic and Wegovy) without a prescription or consultation from a physician. For 15%, they would consider it because the drugs are not covered by their insurance. About 18% said the draw was lower cost. About 9% said they could not get a prescription from their physician, and 6% said the prescription version was not available through their pharmacy.
Off-label versions of GLP-1 medications include compounded semaglutide made by a state-licensed pharmacy. On October 2, 2204 . . .
