45% Of Older Adults Say Their Health Care Professionals Routinely Evaluate Mental Health
Less than half of those age 65 and older (45%) participating in a national poll said their primary care professional routinely asks about their mental health during visits. More than half said their primary care professional routinely asks about medications (71%) and evaluates mobility/physical fitness (55%). About 58% said their primary care professional asks questions to understand what matters in terms of health and well-being. About 40% said their primary care professional evaluates their cognition and brain functioning. About 19% said their primary care professional conducts routine assessments in each domain.
