Nevada Issues RFP To Expand Medicaid & CHIP Managed Care To All Counties
On October 21, 2024, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Care Policy and Financing (DHCPF) released a request for proposals (40DHHS-S3037) for its Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) managed care organization contracts. With these contracts, the state will expand its Medicaid managed care program statewide; currently, MCOs serve only the urban parts of Clark and Washoe counties, both of which are urban areas. Proposals are due by January 3, 2025. The state currently contracts with Elevance, Centene/SilverSummit HealthPlan, Molina, and UnitedHealthcare/Health Plan of Nevada.
