New York Plans To Transition School Health Center Medicaid Payments From FFS To Managed Care In 2025
The New York Department of Health plans to transition Medicaid payments for school-based health centers (SBHCs) from the current fee-for-service model to managed care no sooner than April 1, 2025. School-based health centers (SBHCs) provide comprehensive physical, chronic, mental, and dental health services to over 230,000 underserved youth in rural, urban, and suburban areas of the state, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
