Mood & Anxiety Disorders Common Among Youth Prescribed GLP-1RA Medications For Diabetes Or Obesity

Youth ages 10 to 17 who were prescribed GLP-1RA medications for type 2 diabetes or obesity were more likely to have a mood or anxiety disorder at the time the medications were prescribed than a control group of youth who were not prescribed the medications. About 24.8% of those prescribed a GLP-1RA had anxiety compared to 1.8% of the control group. About 18.5% of those prescribed a GLP-1RA had a mood disorder compared to 0.8% of the control group.

About 87.1% of youth receiving a GL1-RA had a body mass index . . .
