Aging In Place Identified As A Top Barrier To Older Adult Health & Well-Being
The top three social determinants of health affecting the overall health and well-being of older adults in the United States are aging in place, lack of transportation to access medical care, and economic insecurity. The barriers were identified by a group of more than 2,000 adults who participated in an online survey. About 69% cited aging in place, 64% cited lack of transportation, and 56% cited economic insecurity. About 38% cited lack of support as a barrier to overall health.
