Michigan Medicaid To Reimburse ILOS Services To Address Health-Related Nutrition Needs
Starting in January 2025, Michigan Medicaid health plans will be able to offer members additional services considered “in lieu of services” (ILOS) to reduce food insecurity and address members’ health-related nutrition needs. ILOS are services that the state deems to be medically appropriate and cost-effective when provided as substitutes for other Medicaid-covered services. Michigan’s initiative will build on and complement the state's existing food and nutrition strategies.
