Medicare Shared Savings Program Saves Medicare More Than $2.1 Billion In 2023

During 2023, the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) generated gross savings of about $5.2 billion, and after shared savings payments, it netted savings of more than $2.1 billion. Of the reconciled results for 453 accountable care organizations (ACOs) participating in the MSSP, 69% earned shared savings payments of nearly $3.1 billion.
