A Third Of Hospitals Fail To Publish Prices In Accordance With Transparency Laws
About 63% of hospitals are publishing their standard charges in accordance with the Federal Hospital Price Transparency (HPT) rule of 2019, according to an audit of a sample of 100 hospitals. The remaining 37% of hospitals were not complying with the HPT rule, which requires, amongst other things, that a list of standard charges be made available to the public in machine-readable format, and that the posted information be updated at least annually.
