Washington DCYF To Offer Placement Supports Help Licensed & Unlicensed Kinship Caregivers Arrange For Medical, Social, Education & Other Necessary Services
The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, & Families is preparing to launch the second phase of its Caregiver Supports Project, which will provide placement supports to help stabilize out-of-home placements. The supports will be available to licensed foster parents and to unlicensed caregivers, such as relative or kinship placements. The goal is to increase placement stability, increase the number of children placed with relatives, tailor supports to the needs of the child, and decrease disparities in allocation of resources. The new supports will be available as soon as April 2025.
