United States v. San Jacinto, California

On November 9, 2012, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the City of San Jacinto, California alleging violations of the Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act based on its treatment of group homes for persons with disabilities. In October 2008 the city imposed zoning restrictions on where group homes for people with disabilities could be located. The complaint, “United States v. San Jacinto, California,” was filed by two operators of a group homes for people mental disabilities living in San Jacinto.
