Iowa Primary Care Association Selected As Statewide Iowa Behavioral Health ASO

On December 13, 2024, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) selected the Iowa Primary Care Association (Iowa PCA) to serve as the administrative service organization (ASO) for the state’s redesigned behavioral health system. The contract services will go live on July 1, 2025. The contract value was not disclosed. The behavioral health ASO (BH-ASO) is part of a statewide reorganization to align the state’s 32 mental health and substance use service regions into one system with seven behavioral health districts.
