Ohio Implements New Rules For Behavioral Health Recovery Housing Residences
On January 1, 2025, new Ohio rules on behavioral health recovery housing residences went into effect. To accept referrals from community behavioral health provider organizations, recovery housing residences in operation for more than 18 months must be accredited by an appropriate accreditation organization. Residences in operation for less than 18 months must be actively engaged in efforts to obtain accreditation. Acceptable accreditations include Ohio Recovery Housing’s certification and Oxford House’s charter.
