Idaho Creates New Bureau To Oversee Congregate Foster Care Placements
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) launched a new Continuum of Care Bureau in October 2024 to enhance support for youth and families in the state’s foster care system. Its goal is to ensure that congregate care placements are appropriate while optimizing funding streams for effective interventions. Currently 14.7% (188 youth) of the 1,277 youth in foster care are in a congregate care placement. The Bureau is led by Stacy Corbett.
