Adverse Childhood Experiences Twice As Prevalent Among Adults With Disabilities
Those with a disability had a higher prevalence (72.1%) of experiencing any adverse childhood experience (ACE) compared to participants without a disability (60.8%). Those with a disability also have a higher prevalence (26.8%) of experiencing four or more ACEs than those without a disability (14.7%).
These statistics were based on responses from adults who responded to the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey waves administered annually from 2019 to 2022.
