Pediatric Obesity Treatment Yields Lower Morbidity, Mortality Risk In Swedish Young Adults
Children ages six to 17 years with obesity who participated in pediatric obesity treatment interventions in Sweden had a 12% lower risk of death as young adults ages 18 to 30 years. Young adults who had a response to pediatric obesity interventions had a 42% lower risk of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (T2D), a 31% lower risk of having high cholesterol, and a 42% lower risk of undergoing bariatric surgery.
