Fresno County, California is preparing to implement new Medi-Cal (the state’s Medicaid program) services for adult inmates and juvenile detainees preparing for release to the community. The goal is to reduce recidivism rates by providing a set of pre-release services to address and to connect the individual to post-release services for the individual’s medical, behavioral, and social needs.
