One-Year Addiction Treatment Abstinence Rates Higher For Those Who Had A Longer Treatment Stay
One-year addiction treatment abstinence rates were higher for those who had longer treatment stays compared to those who had shorter stays. For those whose treatment lasted 90 days or longer, 33% reported being abstinent (avoiding all drugs and alcohol) for the full year after discharge. For those with who remained in treatment for 20 days or less, less than 15% reported being abstinent a year after discharge.
At one year post-treatment, 46.8% of those who remained in treatment for 90 days or more had not used alcohol or illicit drugs for at least the last 30 days . . .
