New York City Opens 93 Affordable Housing Units At Woodhull Hospital

In March 2025, New York City opened the Woodhull II Residence, a $41.5 million, 93-unit apartment building at 171 Throop Avenue on the NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull campus in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. This is the second phase of affordable and supportive housing at the site, following the 89-unit Woodhull Residence that opened in 2019. The project is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals’ Housing for Health initiative which aims to provide stable housing for individuals receiving care and experiencing homelessness.

The building includes:

56 supportive housing units for homeless NYC Health + Hospitals consumers, with on-site services . . .
