Mental Health Hospitalizations For Youth In England Increased 65% Between 2012 & 2022
The number of annual mental health hospitalizations among English youth aged 5 to 18 increased by 65% between 2012 and 2022, from 24,198 to 39,925, according to an analysis of admission data. During this period, mental health admissions doubled for girls aged 11 to 15, rising by 112.8%. Girls represented 37.6% of all admissions in 2012 and 48.5% of admissions in 2022.
