About 35% Of Older Adults Have Anxiety & Depression
About 35% of adults in the United States aged 65 years and older have both anxiety and depression, according to a new survey from Caring, LLC. Almost half (47%) of surveyed seniors said they had anxiety only, and 17% said they experienced depression only. Of those reporting anxiety, depression, or both, about one-third said they had been clinically diagnosed. The goals of the research were to determine current trends in depression in older adults and to determine how these individuals are coping with their diagnoses.
