California Medicaid Reports Community Supports Cost-Effective At Reducing Avoidable Emergency Department Visits, Hospital Stays & Long-Term Care Use
The California Medicaid set of Community Supports, which are 14 “in lieu of services” intended to help beneficiaries avoid higher levels of care, helped reduce the number of avoidable emergency department visits, hospital stays, and use of long-term care, according to recently released state data. The report, by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), presented outcomes for 12 of the 14 Community Supports. ;
