Court Orders Texas To Stop Segregating People With I/DD In Nursing Facilities
On June 19, 2025, a federal judge in Texas ruled that state segregation of people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) in nursing facilities without mandated services or opportunities for community living must end and ordered the state and the plaintiffs’ attorneys to submit a proposed remedial order by August 1, 2025.
