Medicare Home Health Utilization Common & Rising Among Beneficiaries With Dementia
The use of Medicare home health services among beneficiaries aged 68 years and older who were enrolled in traditional Medicare increased between 2010 and 2019, according to a recent report. For beneficiaries without dementia, utilization decreased. The trends persisted for both community-initiated and for post-acute home health care “spells, ” which was defined as the initial episode plus subsequent recertifications.
