The percentage of median household income spent on health insurance premiums ranges from 4% in New Hampshire to 19.6% in neighboring Vermont, according to a recent study by WalletHub. The national median is 7.8% of median household income spent for health insurance premiums for the 50 states (not including the District of Columbia).
