Florida Seeks To Expand Provider Pool For Medically Fragile Children With Medicaid 1115 Demonstration Home Health Aide Amendment

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) intends to submit a request to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to amend its Medicaid Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) Section 1115 demonstration to expand the pool of provider types to serve medically fragile children. The goal is to close gaps in services for this population. The covered children are defined as in need of medications, treatments, and/or specialized care or equipment due to abuse or neglect, illness, congenital disorder, or brain injury.
