17% Of Adults With I/DD Who Receive State DD Services Have A Paid Job & 42% Of The Unemployed Group Want To Work
Of those receiving services from their state developmental disabilities service system, about 17% of recent survey respondents with intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) have a paid job in the community, and 42% of those in this population without a community paid job want one. State I/DD systems can enhance community access for people with I/DD and apply individualized planning techniques to support them in engaging with their communities in personally meaningful ways, including paid, competitive employment in the community.;
