Ohio Department Of Youth Services Awards Cuyahoga County $30 Million For A Community Juvenile Justice Correctional Facility
On August 1, 2025, the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) awarded the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court approximately $30 million to build a new Community Correctional Facility (CCF) to treat and rehabilitate youth adjudicated of felony offenses. The county plans to build a 32-bed secure residential treatment center serving both male and female youth.
CCFs are smaller, local alternatives to placement in state DYS facilities, offering targeted and personalized treatment, care, and habilitation support. The new facility will allow the county to keep youth closer to home than they would be in an out-of-county placement.
