Pharmacists On The Frontlines: Enhancing Behavioral Health Outcomes Through Collaboration
September 2, 2025 — Behavioral health care does not end when a prescription is written. Increasingly, pharmacists are becoming essential members of care teams, helping improve adherence, supporting transitions of care, and easing the administrative burden on providers and staff.
Altruix will host a free webinar, Pharmacists on the Frontlines, on Tuesday, September 16, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT. This 45-minute online event will explore how pharmacists can act as an extension of the behavioral health care team—driving improved treatment success for individuals while enabling providers to work more efficiently.
The session will highlight the impact pharmacists can have in behavioral health, including strategies for improving adherence to long-acting injectables (LAIs) and other critical medications, supporting patients during high-risk moments such as hospital discharge or therapy initiation, and reducing the administrative workload of care teams. Participants will also hear real-world examples of how pharmacy collaboration has led to greater stability and improved outcomes for individuals receiving behavioral health services.
Featured speakers include Dan Kohler, Retail Pharmacy Manager at Altruix, and James Steigerwalt, Director of Pharma Clinical Services at Altruix. Both will share insights from their experience working directly with providers, care teams, and consumers to ensure medications are not only prescribed but also successfully integrated into the continuum of care.
This webinar is designed for prescribers, nurses, case managers, behavioral health administrators, and other members of the care team who are seeking new strategies to improve medication adherence, reduce workload, and enhance patient outcomes.
