An estimated 89% of adults with autism aged 40 to 59 years, and 97% of those aged 60 years and older in the United Kingdom (UK) remain undiagnosed, according to a recent study. Older adults with autism face higher risks of nearly all physical and mental health conditions, including early-onset dementia and increased suicidal ideation, the researchers stated.
