Skilled Nursing Care Provider Organizations Report Frequent Medicare Advantage Plan Denials
Two-thirds of skilled nursing care provider organizations surveyed said that Medicare Advantage plans frequently deny coverage of post-acute care, according to a recent report by the American Health Care Association (AHCA), a long-term care trade organization. The survey was conducted with 363 skilled nursing care provider organizations in May 2025. Post-acute care is disproportionately impacted by Medicare Advantage prior authorization requirements and processes, the analysts concluded.
