Most HRSA-Funded Health Centers Provide Behavioral Health Services To People With Substance Use Disorder
In 2022, 90% of health centers funded by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provided at least one type of behavioral health service to patients with substance use disorder, while 56% offered comprehensive treatment, according to a review by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The centers met 6% of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment needs and 27% of mental health treatment needs, according to the report.
